The X-File of My YOG Volunteer Experience

Against all odds, I kept my words as a volunteer of Nanjing YOG. I was registered as a food and beverage general affairs assistant. Briefly speaking, I mainly concentrated on meal arrangement for those who worked in oplymipic center.

Basically, we were divided into two teams and worked every other day.
At 8:30 in the morning, I, with my working companion, was well prepared to embark on one day's work. Afterwards, every department or section would hand in a table of the total of their meals requirement for the next day. Our job was to sort out those numbers, add them up and work out the whole sum. There were approximately 20 departments working in the olympic center. As you might see, here is the table we finally print out.

Of course we would manage a brief table so that the sum was clear enough for the vouchers to be printed and to be efficiently allocated.

Above was the requirement in the last few days, the sum thus was far less than the peak time. If I didn't mistake, the number of the vouchers waited for handing out was beyond 12000.
In the afternoon, we fecthed the vouchers from accounting department and began to sort out.

After the successful distribution, our work of a day was over at around 18:00.
I cannot praise our work to be hard, but carefulness is definitely the quality we all have, let alone the efficiency.
In terms of our supervisors, I supposed them great. Probably out of their adoration and consideration, we stepped to where our job never need to reach. The gymnasium and natatorium left a deep impression on me, it was simply a glimpse, though.

Apart from what mentioned above, there were something in need of decipherment in the X-file of my volunteer, LOL!
First of all, I want to show you all the place I worked.

I am 100% convinced that you must be jealous for it has a fantastically wide view of the stadium! Believe it or not, I was stunned by the first sight as well! Anyway, to be honest, I worked in this room occasionally!
Second, I was happy to say that WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY AN OPEN CEREMONY REHEARSAL!
The show was gorgeous and unforgettable, especially the man tower!
Interestingly, we pretended to be athletes from all over the world to participate in the ceremony. We started in Youth Olympic Village...

In the end, I want to talk about the people I encounter in this YOG.
The people of my group were fantastic. We had great times! Our show enjoyed the endless compliment! I never expected such a memory with them. It all was dramatic to me.

We shared the games.

We shared our dreams.

The flame still lingered and the YOG was pacing to an end.

Volunteers cheered and laughed, celebrating a sweet ending!

As for me, I was happy to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience with my girlfriend.

And I was happy to have a memorizable experience with my working team.

Also, I was extremely happy to share my life with my friends.

After the Asian Youth Games, I still could look forward to the Youth Olympic Games. However, After the YOG ends, there is nothing I could cling to. Somehow it gets depressing probably because I cannot find anything for soul to lean on.
I am not a man fancying the change, but change always takes place however somebody else try to prevent.

After all, the venue was being cleared and prepared for the closing ceremony, which also indicated the finish of the volunteer.
How shall I memorize them all? I tried to seize every detail of the venue----the seats, the tracks, the lights, etc. At the sight of the battery getting low in my cell phone due to photographing, I tried to calm myself down by means of struggling to empty my head, attempting to get rid of what happened  for a while but I failed. Cheers and laughters constantly stuffed my ears.  Nonetheless, we never cried out. None of us knew the reason, but the beautiful stadium maybe cuddled the answer carefully.

All in all, what is the happiest is that YOG brought me the friends who were probably strangers, but what is the saddest is that YOG is going to turn the friends into strangers whom I'll possibily never meet again. Really sincere to wish good luck to you all!
Adios, Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games!
